NEW YORK, Sept.16 /PRNewswire/ -- The BET HIP-HOP AWARDS '09 nominations were announced earlier this evening on 106 & PARK, along with the highly respected renowned rapper, actor, screenwriter, film producer and director Ice Cube who will receive this year's "I AM HIP-HOP" Icon Award. ABOUT ICE CUBE

Veteran rapper, Ice Cube pioneered the West Coast rap movement back in the late 80's. Apparently Kanye's outburst during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech has caused more trouble than he could have imagined. According to an entertainment industry insiders, it caused a HUGE BLOW UP between Jay Z and Beyonce. The insider, who asked to remain anonymous, said that soon after Kanye's outburst - MTV network execs were furious. They asked Kanye to go out on stage and apologize - which he refused. Instead, our insider explained, Kanye chose to leave the event. But here's where things get interesting. While all this was happening backstage, insiders learned that Jay Z was right there with Kanye. According to our insider, "Jay Z was upset with the way [MTV] treated Kanye ... so when he saw Beyonce do what she did with Taylor - he saw it as a very disloyal move." And that disloyalty wouldn't go without being punished. According to our insider, Jay LEFT THE EVENT without Beyonce. He reportedly called up Rihanna - who did not attend the Awards show - and attended at least 2 of the VMA afterparties with her instead. Billboard:  Jay-Z will release his "Blueprint 3" album on Sept. 11 on Roc Nation with distribution through Atlantic Records, numerous sources have confirmed.  A formal announcement is expected Sunday on New York radio station Hot 97 and at the station's massive Summer Jam concert in New Jersey at Giants Stadium.





Sam Crespo, VP of Rap Promotions at Atlantic Records who goes by the twitter name TheCrespo, first confirmed the news in a Twitter posting

 

 yesterday afternoon. The post was removed hours later. A MissInfo.tv blog posting

 

 also revealed the details but was subsequently removed.





Last week, Hits Daily Double reported that Sean "Diddy" Combs had allegedly spoken with Jay-Z and persuaded him to sign to Warner Music Group, joining former Island Def Jam colleagues Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles. The site also alleged this was a one-off deal just for this recording.





Meanwhile, Billboard.com reported

 

 that Roc Nation was going over to Sony through Epic, and sources close to the negotiations are still standing by their version. "Roc Nation will still be coming to Epic. It will still be a distribution deal," a source tells Billboard.com.





Just last month, Jay-Z confirmed his departure

 

 from longtime label home Def Jam.  His split from the Universal Music Group-owned label reportedly came with a $5 million price tag, but left the rap artist and label executive in control of his future master recordings. Jay-Z's eleven solo records (including the live "Unplugged" album) and collaborations with Linkin Park and R. Kelly have sold more than 29 million units according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Suge Knight Can’t Fight! He got knocked the F#%k Out…AGAIN!!!



Okay yall, Suge Knight needs to follow the lead of our once Heavy Weight Champion of the World and hang up his boxing gloves. This will be the second time within a 9 month span that the overweight ish talker has go KNOCKED THE F%#K OUT! This time it was by someone from the R&B singer, Akon’s camp. It all went down in a private party at the W Hotel in Scottsdale, AZ where Suge was attending a private party for NBA All-Star weekend. Cops say they were called to the scene by hotel security who warned about a brewing fight between two groups in the VIP area.



According to the Scottsdale PD website, when cops arrived, they saw a man punch the victim — aka Suge — two times in the head.” Officers had to break out the tasers to “quell the fight. “The suspect, Robert Carnes Jr., was charged with one count of felony aggravated assault — they ruled it a felony “due to the severity of the victim’s injuries.” Another man was also arrested and charged with one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Suge was transported to a local hospital and treated for facial injuries. Read the official police report:



“At about 3:30 AM, police were called to a private party on the second floor (pool area) of the W Hotel. Hotel security personnel called police when they became concerned that there would be a fight between two groups of guests having heated words in the VIP area. Officers arrived and watched a group of about 6-8 guests exiting the VIP area. They saw one person, later identified as Robert Carnes Jr., punch the victim in the head two times. Officers deployed Tasers to quell the fight that erupted. Officers arrested CARNES Jr. and ANDERSON for assault and disorderly conduct. The victim was transported to SHC-Osborn hospital where he was treated for facial injuries. CARNES Jr. reported to officers that he is employed as the business manager for singer “Akon”.

Both suspects were booked into Scottsdale City jail and are being held in custody.

ANDERSON is charged with 1 count of misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct. CARNES Jr. is charged with 1 count of Felony Aggravated Assault. (Felony charge is due to the severity of the victim’s injuries.)”

Damn Suge…looks like the chickens are coming home to roost???


Say it ain’t so…Rihanna on O???

Awe ish yall, sources claim that Rihanna could possibly be going on The Oprah Winfrey Show to spill her side of the story! An inside source says, “To my knowledge Riri has spoken to Oprah. Rihanna declined to have it as a topic on the show but spoke to her as a friend. Oprah told her that if its anything she can do just let her know.”

Yeah right! Since when has Oprah and Rihanna been “friends!” But we all know how Oprah rolls…If O wants the exclusive, O will get the exclusive. No word yet if Oprah has reached out to Chris Brown who just recently released a statement basically saying he’s “sorry and saddened” for beating the hell out of Rihanna. And to think, hired a PR company to write that profound apology.
